On entering the village from Winchcombe, one of the first things you see is the gatehouse. Built of local Guiting Yellow stone, a rich amber honeycomb stone, it is topped by a line of scallops, which, as well as being linked to the pilgrimage to Santiago, were part of the Tracy family coat of arms. It is certainly one of the most striking and attractive structures in the Cotswolds.
